إذا أصيب شخص أو اشتبه فى إصابته بأحد الأمراض المعدية وجب الإبلاغ عنه خلال ٢٤ ساعة إلى طبيب الصحة المختص وفى النواحى التى ليس بها طبيب صحة يكون الإبلاغ للسلطة الإدارية التى يقع فى دائرتها محل إقامة المريض أما فى أحوال الاشتباه فى الإصابة أو المرض بالطاعون والكوليرا فيجب الإبلاغ على الوجه المتقدم خلال ١٢ ساعة .
