How it works
- How does FahmQanon check the citations in its answers?FahmQanon checks every article an answer cites against its text in the law library before the lawyer sees the answer: the article must exist, be in force on the date that matters, belong to a law that is not repealed, and match any words quoted from it.
- How is FahmQanon different from a general AI chatbot?FahmQanon answers from a law library it keeps and checks, rather than from a general model's memory: every article it cites is matched against its text in the version in force on the date that matters, and anything unconfirmed is marked “not verified”.
- How does FahmQanon calculate legal deadlines?FahmQanon calculates a procedural deadline from a rule that quotes its article word for word, such as the 40-day appeal period in article 227 of the Civil and Commercial Procedure Law, and from a start date the lawyer gives or the case holds.
The library and court rulings
- Which laws are in the FahmQanon library? The FahmQanon library holds Egypt's key laws article by article, with their earlier versions, their amendments and the source of every text, from official sources first: the Official Gazette and Al-Waqa'i al-Misriyya.
- Which court rulings does FahmQanon include, and where do they come from?FahmQanon includes rulings of the Supreme Constitutional Court, the Court of Cassation and the Supreme Administrative Court, linked to the articles of the law they mention.
Trust, data protection and limits
- Is client data safe in FahmQanon?FahmQanon processes a law firm's data on the firm's behalf under a data processing agreement, and the firm remains the controller under Egypt's Personal Data Protection Law 151 of 2020.
- What does FahmQanon not do?FahmQanon is a working tool for lawyers, and the lawyer stays responsible for everything they use: it gives no legal advice to the public, files nothing with the courts and never picks a deadline or hearing date on its own.
- Does FahmQanon use our firm's data to train AI?FahmQanon never uses a firm's cases, documents, chats or drafts to train AI models, and it does not sell personal data.
