الضابط الذى تأخرت أقدميته بسبب تخطيه طبقا للمادتين 15 و17 من هذا القانون، يجوز رد أقدميته إلى التاريخ الذى كانت تتم فيه الترقية لو لم يحدث التخطى إذا كان التقريران المقدمان عنه مرة كل ستة أشهر عن السنة التالية لترقيته إلى الرتبة التى سبق تخطيه عند الترقية إليها بدرجة لا تقل عن جيد.
ولا ينتفع الضابط بهذا الحكم إلا مرة واحدة خلال مدة خدمته.
