تنظم اللائحة الداخلية شروط وأوضاع منح درجة دكتور فى علوم الشرطة لمن حصل على درجة ماجستير وذلك بعد تقديم رسالة علمية فى أحد مجالات الشرطة وتطبيقها.
ويجوز لمدير أكاديمية الشرطة بعد موافقة مجلس إدارة الأكاديمية أن يمنح درجة الدكتوراه الفخرية فى علوم الشرطة لمن يقدم خدمات ممتازة أو أعمالا أو بحوثا تساعد على تحسين طرق العمل ورفع كفاءة الأداء فى جهاز الشرطة.
