يصدر قرار الترقية من السلطة المختصة ، وتعتبر الترقية نافذة من تاريخ صدور القرار بها .
ويستحق الموظف اعتبارا من هذا التاريخ الأجر الوظيفى المقرر للوظيفة المرقى إليها أو أجره السابق مضافا إليه علاوة ترقية بنسبة (٥٪) من هذا الأجر الوظيفى أيهما أكبر .
