تعفى مشروعات النقل البحرى التى تنشأ فى المناطق الحرة من الشروط الخاصة
بجنسية مالك السفينة والعاملين عليها المنصوص عليها فى القانون رقم ٨٤ لسنة ١٩٤٩
بشأن تسجيل السفن التجارية ، وقانون التجارة البحرية الصادرة بالقانون
رقم ٨ لسنة ١٩٩٠ .
كما تستثنى السفن المملوكة لهذه المشروعات من أحكام القانون رقم ١٢ لسنة ١٩٦٤
بإنشاء المؤسسة المصرية العامة للنقل البحرى .
