يستهدف الاتحاد الاشتراكى العربى برئاسة رئيس الدولة الحفاظ على مبادئ ثورتى ٢٣ يوليو سنة ١٩٥٢ و ١٥ مايو سنة ١٩٧١ ودعم الوحدة الوطنية وتحالف قوى الشعب العاملة والمكاسب الاشتراكية وتوطيد السلام الاجتماعى وتعميق النظام الاشتراكى الديموقراطى وتوسيع مجالاته .
وتتولى هذه الاختصاصات اللجنة المركزية للاتحاد الاشتراكى العربى .
