تحدد أقسام الدراسة الفنية نظام السنوات الخمس وفقا لمتطلبات خطط التنمية على مستوى الدولة ، ويصدر وزير التعليم - بعد موافقة المجلس الأعلى للتعليم - قرارات بتحديد هذه الأقسام والمواد الدراسية فى كل منها وطريقة توزيعها وعدد الدروس المخصصة لها وكذلك المناهج والكتب الدراسية اللازمة ونظم التقويم والامتحان .
