تهدف المدارس الفنية إلى إعداد فئتى "الفنى الأول" ، و "المدرب" فى مجالات الصناعة والزراعة والتجارة والإدارة والخدمات .
ويتم القبول فى هذه المدارس من الحاصلين على شهادة إتمام الدراسة بمرحلة التعليم الأساسى ووفقا للشروط التى يصدر بها قرار من وزير التعليم . ويجوز له أن يقرر النظام الداخلى فى بعض أو كل هذه المدارس مع تحديد مقابل الإقامة والغذاء وقواعد الإعفاء منها .
