للسلطات الصحية المختصة أن تراقب الأشخاص الذين خالطوا المريض وذلك خلال المدة التى تقررها .
ولها أن تعزل مخالطى المصابين بالكوليرا أو الطاعون الرئوى أو الجمرة الخبيثة الرئوية فى الأماكن التى تخصصها لذلك ولها عزل المخالطين المصابين بأمراض أخرى إذا امتنعوا عن تنفيذ إجراءات المراقبة على الوجه الذى تحدده .
