يستدعى بعض أو كل أفراد الاحتياط بقرار من وزير الدفاع في الأحوال الآتية :
(أ ) لأغراض التدريب لمدة لا تزيد على ثمانية أسابيع في العام التدريبى الواحد .
(ب) تكملة مرتبات الوحدات لمدة ستة أشهر فأخرى بحيث لا يجاوز ذلك مدة سنة من تاريخ الاستدعاء .
(ج) في حالة الحرب أو عند اعلان التعبئة أو الطوارىء وحتى نهايتها .
