مع مراعاة أحكام القانون رقم 2 لسنة 1957 بشأن التوحيد القياسى، والقانون رقم 21 لسنة 1958 بشأن تنظيم الصناعة وتشجيعها يقصد بكلمة الأغذية أية مأكولات أو مشروبات تستخدم للاستهلاك الآدمى، ويقصد بتداول الاغذية أية عملية أو أكثر من عمليات تصنيع الأغذية أو تحضيرها أو طرحها أو عرضها للبيع أو تخزينها أو نقلها أو تسليمها.
