يقصد بنشاط الإيداع المركزي كل نشاط يتناول إيداع وحفظ الأوراق المالية
وإجراء المقاصة وتسوية المراكز المالية الناشئة عن عمليات التداول ونقل ملكية الأوراق
المالية عن طريق القيد الدفتري ، بما في ذلك :
١ - حفظ الأوراق المالية لدى الشركة أو لدى إحدى الجهات المرخص لها بذلك .
٢ - نقل ملكية الأوراق المالية التي تم التعامل عليها عن طريق أعضاء الإيداع المركزي
وذلك بالقيد الدفتري .
٣ - قيد حقوق الرهن على الأوراق المالية .
٤ - إجراء المقاصة وتسوية المراكز المالية الناشئة عن تداول الأوراق المالية .
