تنشأ أكاديمية الشرطة بوزارة الداخلية وتتولى إعداد ضباط الشرطة، والقيام بالدراسات التخصصية والعليا وإجراء الأبحاث العلمية والتطبيقية فى علوم الشرطة ومجالات عملها وكذلك تدريب ضباط الشرطة، ويكون وزير الداخلية هو الرئيس الأعلى للأكاديمية.
