يستمر المجلس الحالي لنقابة الصحفيين في القيام بأعمال مجلس النقابة بكامل اختصاصاته المنصوص عليها في هذا القانون ، وذلك بصفة مؤقتة لحين تشكيل مجلس النقابة الجديد طبقا لأحكام هذا القانون وذلك خلال مدة لا تجاوز تسعة أشهر من تاريخ صدوره .
كما تستمر اللجان الفرعية القائمة لحين تشكيل النقابات الفرعية الجديدة وتكون لها اختصاصات النقابات الفرعية الواردة في هذا القانون .
