تلغى الفقرتان الثالثة والرابعة من المادة (240) من قانون العقوبات ويلغى كل حكم آخر يخالف أحكام هذا القانون فيما عدا الأحكام الخاصة بالقانونين رقمى 178 لسنة 1960 بشأن تنظيم عمليات جمع وتخزين وتوزيع الدم ومركباته و103 لسنة 1962 فى شأن إعادة تنظيم بنوك العيون، والتى تظل سارية المفعول.
