يختص رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة بما يلى :
( ١ ) إدارة الهيئة وتصريف شئونها وتدعيم أجهزتها .
( ٢ ) تنفيذ قرارات مجلس الإدارة .
( ٣ ) موافاة وزير البترول وأجهزة الدولة المعنية بما تطلبه من بيانات أو معلومات .
( ٤ ) تفويض نواب رئيس مجلس الإدارة أو غيرهم من المديرين فى بعض اختصاصاته .
