يصدر ترخيص البحث للمناجم بقرار من الوزير المختص بعد موافقة مجلس إدارة الهيئة لمدة سنتين، ويجوز تجديده لمدتين، كما يجوز تجديده لمدة ثالثة بمبررات فنية تقبلها الهيئة.
وتنظم اللائحة التنفيذية لهذا القانون الاشتراطات المالية لفترات البحث.
