هيئة البريد مسئولة قبل المرسل عن اختلاس الرسالة المؤمن عليها أو المحول عليها، أو سرقتها أو فقدها أو تلفها، وتنتهى مسئولية هيئة البريد بدفع تعويض لا يجاوز قيمة التأمين أو قيمة التحويل طبقا لمقتضى الحال، بالإضافة إلى الرسوم والأجور المدفوعة، وتحدد اللائحة التنفيذية كيفية حساب التعويض.
