تظل البطاقات الشخصية والعائلية وصور القيود القائمة المعمول بها سارية المفعول طبقا لأحكام القانون رقم 260 لسنة 1960 في شأن الأحوال المدنية إلى أن يتم استبدالها طبقا للإجراءات والمواعيد وفي الأماكن التي يحددها وزير الداخلية بقرار منه.
وتعتبر البطاقات القائمة لاغية بمجرد انتهاء المدة المحددة لاستخراج البطاقات الصادرة طبقا لأحكام هذا القانون.
