على صاحب البطاقة في حالة فقدها أو تلفها أن يتقدم إلى قسم السجل المدني الذي يقيم بدائرته خلال خمسة عشر يوما من تاريخ الفقد أو التلف بطلب للحصول على بطاقة بدل فاقد أو تالف.
ولا يجوز للمواطن الاحتفاظ أو التعامل ببطاقة صدرت له بطاقة بدلا منها وفقا لأحكام القانون.
