يحدد وزير الداخلية بقرار منه مدة سريان بطاقة تحقيق الشخصية، ويجب على صاحب البطاقة التقدم بطلب لتجديدها خلال ثلاثة أشهر من تاريخ انتهاء مدة سريانها.
ويجوز لوزير الداخلية عند الاقتضاء أن يصدر قرارا بمد سريانها مبينا به شروط وأحوال ذلك المد.
