في تطبيق أحكام هذا القانون يقصد بالعبارات الآتية المعاني المبينة قرين كل منها:
(أ) وقائع الأحوال المدنية: وقائع الميلاد والوفاة، والزواج، والطلاق.
(ب) الجهات الصحية: مكاتب الصحة أو الجهات والأشخاص الذين يصدر بتحديدهم قرار من وزير الصحة.
(ج) السجلات: السجلات الورقية أو الآلية المخزونة على الحاسب الآلي وملحقاته سواء إلكترونيا أو مغناطيسيا أو بأية وسيلة أخرى.
