يشترط لاستمرار العضوية بمجلس الشيوخ أن يظل العضو محتفظا بالصفة التي تم
انتخابه على أساسها ، فإن فقد هذه الصفة أو غير انتماءه الحزبي المنتخب على أساسه
أو أصبح مستقلا أو صار المستقل حزبيا ، تسقط عنه العضوية بقرار من مجلس الشيوخ
بأغلبية ثلثي أعضاء المجلس .
