يقصد بالطفل فى مجال الرعاية المنصوص عليها فى هذا القانون كل من لم يتجاوز سنه الثامنة عشرة سنة ميلادية كاملة .
وتثبت السن بموجب شهادة الميلاد أو بطاقة الرقم القومى أو أى مستند رسمى آخر.
فإذا لم يوجد المستند الرسمى أصلا قدرت السن بمعرفة إحدى الجهات التى يصدر بتحديدها قرار من وزير العدل بالاتفاق مع وزير الصحة .

ويكون إثبات سن الطفل بموجب شهادة ميلاده أو بطاقة شخصية أو أى مستند رسمى
آخر .
