يختص الجهاز بوضع القواعد الفنية المتعلقة بالسلامة الصحية والبيئية
الواجبة الاتباع عند تركيب وتشغيل واستخدام شبكات الاتصالات ومتابعة تنفيذها وتشغيلها ،
وذلك طبقا للمعايير التى يتم وضعها بالاتفاق مع الوزارات والجهات المعنية بالدولة .
وتصدر بهذه المعايير قرارات من الوزراء المعنيين ورؤساء الجهات المشار إليها ،
وتنشر هذه القرارات فى الوقائع المصرية .
