تقوم هيئات القطاع العام في مجال نشاطها ومن خلال الشركات التي تشرف عليها بالمشاركة في تنمية الاقتصاد القومي والعمل على تحقيق أهداف خطة التنمية طبقا للسياسة العامة للدولة وخططها.
ويتولى الوزير المختص عن طريق هيئات القطاع العام التابعة لتنفيذ السياسة العامة للدولة في مجالات نشاط هذه الهيئات ومتابعة تنفيذ خطة الدولة في هذه المجالات.
