يحاكم أمام الهيئات التأديبية للنقابة الأعضاء الذين يرتكبون أمورا مخلة بشرفهم أو ماسة بكرامة المهنة أو يهملون في تأدية واجباتهم . أما الأعضاء العاملون بالجهاز الإداري للدولة والقطاع العام والهيئات العامة والوحدات التابعة لها فلا يحاكمون أمام هذه الهيئات التأديبية إلا فيما يقع منهم بسبب مزاولة المهنة خارج أعمال وظائفهم .
