Article 109 of the Maritime Trade Law

(١) يقصد بالبحار كل شخص يرتبط بعقد عمل
بحري، ويعتبر الربان من البحارة فيما يتعلق بعقد العمل المبرم بينه
وبين المجهز.
(٢) وتحدد القوانين واللوائح والاتفاقيات الدولية النافذة في
جمهورية مصر العربية والأعراف البحرية المقصود بالربان والضباط
والمهندسين البحريين وعدد البحارة الذين يجب وجودهم على السفينة
والمؤهلات والشروط التى يجب توافرها فيهم.
