Article 47 of the Mental Health Care Law

يعاقب بالحبس مدة لا تجاوز سنة وبغرامة لا تزيد على خمسة آلاف جنيه
أو بإحدى هاتين العقوبتين كل من كان مكلفا بحراسة أو تمريض أو علاج شخص مصاب
بمرض نفسي وأساء معاملته أو أهمله بطريقة من شأنها أن تحدث له آلاما أو ضررا.
وإذا ترتب على سوء المعاملة مرض أو إصابة أو إعاقة بجسم المريض تكون العقوبة
الحبس مدة لا تجاوز ثلاث سنوات.
