يتولى المجلس الشعبى المحلى للمدينة فى نطاق السياسة العامة للمركز الرقابة والاشراف على مجالس الأحياء والتنسيق بينها والرقابة على مختلف المرافق ذات الطابع المحلى فى نطاق المدينة ويختص فى حدود القوانين واللوائح بالمسائل المنصوص عليها فى البنود من (1 – 7) من المادة (41) على مستوى المدينة.
