Article 138 of the Advocacy Law

نقيب المحامين هو الذى يمثل المحامين ويتكلم باسمهم ويحافظ على كرامة النقابة وكرامة أعضائها ويرعى الالتزام بتقاليدها ويشرف بوجه عام على سير أعمال النقابة وفق أحكام هذا القانون وله أن يتخذ صفة المدعى أو أن يتدخل بنفسه أو بواسطة من ينيبه من المحامين فى كل دعوى تتعلق بكرامة النقابة أو أحد أعضائها .
ويراس النقيب اجتماعات مجلس النقابة وفى حالة غيابه تكون الرئاسة لأقدم الوكيلين فى القيد بجدول المحامين بشرط أن يكون مزاولا للمهنة مستقلا وفى حالة غيابهما تكون الرئاسة لأكبر أعضاء المجلس سنا .
