التربية الدينية مادة أساسية فى جميع مراحل التعليم ، ويشترط للنجاح فيها الحصول على ٥٠ ٪ على الأقل من الدرجة المخصصة لها على ألا تحسب درجاتها ضمن المجموع الكلى .
وتنظم وزارة التربية والتعليم مسابقات دورية لحفظة القرآن الكريم وتمنح المتفوقين منهم مكافآت وحوافز وفقا للنظام الذى يضعه المجلس الأعلى للتعليم .
