يكون بكل إقليم اقتصادى مركز إقليمى للتخطيط والتنمية العمرانية يتبع الهيئة العامة للتخطيط العمرانى ، ويباشر اختصاصات هذه الهيئة بالإقليم ، كما يتولى الدعم الفنى للإدارات العامة للتخطيط والتنمية العمرانية بمحافظات الإقليم ، ومتابعة إعداد وتنفيذ مخططات مدن وقرى تلك المحافظات ، ويصدر بتنظيم هذه المراكز واختصاصاتها قرار من الوزير المختص .
