يختص جهاز التفتيش الفنى على أعمال البناء بوزارة الإسكان والمرافق والتنمية العمرانية بأداء مهام التفتيش والرقابة والمتابعة على جميع أعمال الجهات الإدارية المختصة بشئون التخطيط والتنظيم فى جميع أنحاء الجمهورية .
وعلى الجهات الإدارية المختصة أن تضع جميع المستندات والبيانات تحت طلب لجان التفتيش المختصة من الجهاز ، وتنفيذ جميع التوصيات والقرارات التى يصدرها الجهاز ولجانه المختصة .
