يقصد بالهيئة فى تطبيق أحكام هذا القانون هيئة الآثار المصرية ، كما يقصد باللجنة الدائمة اللجنة الدائمة المختصة بالآثار المصرية القديمة وآثار العصور البطلمية والرومانية ، أو اللجنة المختصة بالآثار الإسلامية والقبطية ومجالس إدارات المتاحف بحسب الأحوال والتى يصدر بتشكيلها قرار من رئيس الهيئة .
