جميع الآثار المكتشفة التى تعثر عليها بعثات الحفائر العلمية الأجنبية تكون ملكا للدولة ، ومع ذلك يجوز للهيئة أن تقرر مكافأة للبعثات المتميزة إذا أدت أعمالا جليلة فى الحفائر والترميمات بأن تمنح بعضا من الآثار المنقولة التى اكتشفتها البعثة لمتحف آثار تعينه البعثة لتعرض فيه باسمهامتى قررت الهيئة إمكان الاستغناء عن هذه الآثار لمماثلتها مع القطع الأخرى التى أخرجت من ذات الحفائر من حيث المادة والنوع والصفة والدلالة التاريخية والفنية وذلك بعد استيفاء المعلومات المتعلقة بها وتسجيلها .
