يجوز بقرار من الوزير المختص بشئون الثقافة بناء على اقتراح مجلس إدارة الهيئة وبعد أخذ رأى اللجنة الدائمة للآثار شطب تسجيل الأثر الثابت أو جزء منه ، وينشر قرار الشطب فى الوقائع المصرية ويبلغ إلى الأفراد والجهات التى أبلغت من قبل بتسجيله ويثبت ذلك على هامش تسجيل الأثر بالهيئة وعلى هامش تسجيل العقار فى مصلحة الشهر العقارى .
